Life Services at Pathways exists to help women facing unplanned pregnancies. Many women choose abortion because they feel alone, lacking the relational support needed to choose life. Others choose abortion because of pressure from their partner, parents, friends or other people close to them.
Life Services is a safe place for them to come to process their fears and misgivings about their pregnancy. We have the opportunity every day to show them hope and to empower them to choose life. Many desire to continue the pregnancy, they just don’t feel like it’s a possibility in their circumstances. We help them feel confident and supported and when that happens, they often choose life.
Services
We provide medical services to women facing unplanned pregnancies. These include pregnancy testing and ultrasounds to not only confirm the pregnancy, but reveal vital information about the pregnancy. For many women, seeing the ultrasound image is the turning point in their appointment when they decide they want to continue the pregnancy and parent.
We also provide non-medical services like parenting classes and coaching, baby and maternity supplies, and education and information on all of their pregnancy options. For our clients who choose to parent, we offer the support and relationship they need to feel confident on that path.
In addition to these services, we also provide community referrals. Many clients come to us wanting a pregnancy test and we’re able to also provide education about STIs and where and why they should be tested and treated. We also provide information and referrals on how to reverse a medical abortion they may have started and regret.
